Following a grueling sparring session, Rem questions Encrid's decision to dual-wield, but ultimately expresses deep respect for Encrid's stubborn determination and unique attitude toward life. Ragna and a religious soldier join the conversation, both jokingly expressing their dislike for Encrid. Rem then challenges Andrew to a duel to help him improve, while Mac observes from a distance, offering encouragement to Andrew. After Andrew's defeat, Ragna engages Encrid in a sparring match, quickly subduing him. Encrid, exhausted and suffering from the physical side effects of the Heart of the Beast, is helped by Audin and Krais. Krais assists with equipment maintenance, while Audin insists on taking Encrid inside to rest. Once Encrid is cleaned up, Audin approaches him with an ominous smile to demonstrate a muscle-tension relief technique. The technique, which Audin jokingly calls 'blood, sweat, and tears,' involves intense pressure that causes Encrid excruciating pain, leaving him momentarily seeing visions of death.
