Jaxon leads them to safety, acting on the Commander's promise to protect them. Meanwhile, Encrid engages in a high-speed battle against a half-blood Giant and Swift Blade. Encrid utilizes advanced techniques, including the Fluid Sword Technique and a stance learned from Audin, to parry the Giant's heavy attacks and Swift Blade's Ribbon sword. During the fight, Swift Blade attempts to use a hostage as a projectile, but Encrid catches the woman safely. The half-blood Giant, realizing she cannot bring herself to kill Encrid, chooses to withdraw from the fight, much to Swift Blade's fury. Swift Blade rushes to the shack only to find it empty. A confrontation ensues between Encrid and Swift Blade. Swift Blade uses a rare magical Scroll to launch a massive fireball at Encrid. To protect the Giant and the rescued woman, Encrid charges directly at the fireball. Using the Middle Sword Technique's Wrath Stance, Encrid executes a perfect diagonal slash, splitting the fireball in two. Despite being partially burned by the resulting explosions, Encrid successfully cuts through the spell, marking a significant moment of resolve.
