A child assassin, disguised as a terrified boy, attempts a stealthy ambush, but Encrid deflects the strike and delivers a powerful blow to the boy's chest. A small panther then intervenes, killing the child. A middle-aged woman, revealed to be an assassin, curses the boy before throwing a smoke bomb to facilitate an escape. Encrid, having anticipated the diversion, leaves Krais to manage the aftermath and pursues the assassins. Krais, realizing the assassins used poisoned weapons and were likely sent by the Black Blade Bandits as a diversion, takes control of the panicking crowd. He uses the chaos to recruit laborers for estate construction projects, turning a crisis into an opportunity. Meanwhile, Encrid pursues the assassins toward a reed field in the northeastern part of the estate. Despite being targeted by volleys of poisoned projectiles and whistling daggers, Encrid's heightened senses and skill allow him to deflect everything and even catch a whistling dagger mid-air. The assassins, unaware of Encrid's true lethality, continue their retreat toward the reed field, unaware they are heading toward their demise.
