The Owlbear, though capable of blocking her, is further confronted by a man with an axe and Matthew, the bodyguard of Kdianath Rangdias Naurill, who arrives with a whip. The Owlbear, now losing its composure, is confronted by a calm, commanding figure who demands to know the leader of the Black Blade Bandits, offering a quick death in exchange for the information. Despite the Owlbear's attempts to deny knowledge, the mysterious figure remains undeterred. The chapter ends as a new, recognizable voice calls out to the Guard Commander.
