The Naurillia battalion commander realizes they have been outmaneuvered by sorcery and the Gray Hound unit, but the fog makes it impossible to locate the enemy's magical medium. The battle ends in a crushing defeat for Naurillia, with only a few survivors, including a fairy company commander. After the battle, a dying Encrid is struck by crossbow bolts but finds joy in the combat experience, adhering to the principle of never letting go of his sword even in death. Upon waking from the time loop, Encrid seeks out Ragna to continue his training. He demonstrates rapid improvement through repeated combat and sparring, eventually mastering the fundamentals to the point where Ragna admits there is nothing left to teach him regarding the basics.
