Chapter 437

Encrid receives a request from Knight Oara, facilitated by Krang and Marcus, to assist the Knights at the Demon Realm Borderland. The request includes technological benefits, such as advanced sewage systems, as an incentive. Encrid decides to go, accompanied by Rem and Luagarne, while others remain behind: Audin will oversee training, Esther and Ragna stay, and Lawford and Pel remain as well. Dunbachel also expresses a desire to fight, though Encrid perceives her motivation as a desire to flee her past. Before departing, Encrid demonstrates a new technique, 'White Lightning,' a high-speed variation of Ragna's lightning combined with the Giant's Strike, which impresses Ragna. Three days later, the group begins their journey toward the northwest of Naurillia. During the trek, Rem becomes agitated by a familiar scent to the west. After five days of walking, the group is ambushed by a group of skilled bandits on a path near the borderland. The bandits, led by a scruffy-bearded man, attempt to encircle the group, claiming they must rob travelers to survive the dangerous region. Encrid observes their formation, noting their competence, and prepares to face them.
