Bran explains that these corpses are possessed by spirits that cannot be cut by normal blades or Will, requiring a specific method to defeat them: destroying an orb. While the fairies plan to have Brisa find the orb, Pel uses his Idol Slayer—a weapon capable of cutting spirits—to efficiently decapitate the corpses, eventually revealing the orb held by one of the creatures. After clearing the area, the group descends a staircase into a dark, magically-infused corridor. They encounter various monsters, including trolls, wraiths, and basilisks, which they dispatch with relative ease. As they progress, they encounter a terrifying undead figure in black armor wielding a massive, cursed sword. Zero identifies the creature as Arzhila, a fallen Fairy Knight. Despite Bran's urgent warnings not to clash blades with her due to the sword's ability to double the opponent's weight upon impact, Encrid engages Arzhila in combat, parrying her relentless strikes.
