Through the paper, Soleum discovers that while he escaped the station, leaving the city on foot is not viable for everyone. Most shockingly, Lee Jaheon reveals that time in the city is not resetting; instead, it is solidifying, meaning May 4th is becoming a fixed point in time. This complicates Soleum's plan to terminate the disaster in the early morning, as he will now have to act in the middle of the unfolding disaster. Soleum realizes that if the seal is resealed to restart the loop, he and others might lose all memories of the city. Assistant Manager Lee Seonghae suggests using a rebar to create a physical connection to the outside. By pulling the rebar, Soleum and Seonghae successfully pull two bodies through the exit: the corpses of Agent Ryu Jaekwan (high schooler) and Assistant Manager Eun Haje (reporter). Soleum observes that while their physical bodies have returned to the subway, their silhouettes still remain outside the exit.
