Chapter 387

The protagonist carries a heavy jangdok (jar) containing a mysterious entity through the Off-Duty Zone alongside Assistant Manager Jin Nasol. Upon entering, a mass of white, hose-like strings pursues them. To stall the entity, the protagonist throws a bottle of liquor; the white strings are lured by the liquid but do not consume it. The entity eventually breaches the containment door, threatening to enter the Off-Duty Zone. The pair searches for an "Authorized Personnel Only" door without a doorknob, hoping to use a doorknob fragment the protagonist possesses. During the frantic search, Jin Nasol discovers she has been infected by the white strings; her ring finger becomes limp and eventually melts into a yellowish-red mucus. The protagonist is forced to amputate the finger with a butcher's knife to prevent further infection. The entity inside the jar begins screaming and making bizarre, garbled noises before going silent. As the white strings breach the containment door, the protagonist realizes the "Out of Order" bathhouse (Namhae Hot Springs) has no doorknob and serves as the escape route. As they reach the door, the jangdok's bottom cracks, leaking mucus and attracting the white strings. The protagonist abandons the jar to escape, and both dive through the door into the hidden Authorized Personnel Only area just as it shuts.
