During this intermission, Assistant Manager Eun Haje slips Kim a specialized button, which he discovers is a communication device linked to Section Chief Lee Jaheon of D-squad. Kim uses the device to report that D-squad will face mass death in 30 minutes. Lee Jaheon, displaying a pragmatic and somewhat detached attitude, explains that if Kim can hold out for 55 minutes, he can coordinate a rescue involving heavy equipment and security team authorization. Kim returns to the set, using flattery and psychological manipulation to convince the host that the current 'revamped' show format is a cost-cutting measure that disrespects the host's importance. This successfully shifts the host's focus from the broadcast flow to his own ego, creating a window of opportunity.
