Kim Soleum (Agent Hwagak) begins his first day with the Site Cleanup Unit. He is introduced to his teammate, Jang Heowoon (Agent Hwagak), by a middle-aged woman. The Vermilion Bird Team 2 leader briefs them on their task: cleaning up a supernatural disaster site in Dobong-gu involving a 'public phone booth that tells scary stories.' The site, left after a civilian rescue, is filled with blood and gore. Kim and Jang Heowoon, both wearing protective hazmat suits, enter the booth to begin cleaning. Despite the revulsion caused by the blood and organs, they proceed with the task. As they vacuum the blood, the phone booth begins to act up, playing a pre-recorded message and pressing its own buttons. To resolve the contradiction, Kim shouts a statement that invalidates the booth's existence (noting there are no public booths in Dobong-gu) and violently throws the phone against the glass door. The phone shatters and vanishes into black ash, effectively annihilating the site rather than just cleaning it. While Agent Choi praises the 'ultimate cleanup,' the Vermilion Bird Team 2 leader finds the method too dangerous for a rookie. Consequently, Kim is not assigned to the Cleanup Unit but is instead sent back to the Response & Rescue Unit for rotational duty.
