While hiding in the ventilation duct, Kim and Baek Saheon witness the 'Usher'—a mechanical entity with spider-like appendages. The Usher attacks fleeing humans, specifically targeting their eyes to facilitate the 'Manor of the Blind' experience. Kim notes that the Usher replaces lost eyes with temporary camera lenses that eventually fail, leaving victims blind and helpless. Kim realizes the exhibition is 'considerate' by providing these rentals, though they are a trap. After the commotion subsides, Kim climbs out of the vent. He realizes he must find his D-squad teammates. Baek Saheon, attempting to distance himself from Kim (whom he finds intimidating due to Kim's previous 'serial killer' messages), asks how long Kim has been inside. Kim realizes the D-squad superiors intentionally kept him out of the loop to ensure he entered later. Despite the terror of the mansion, Kim considers that traveling with Baek Saheon might be a safer choice than going alone, even if Baek has a personality defect.
