Chapter 10 — I Picked Up a Grimoire and Became a Wizard

Chapter 10

Kim Yo-han receives a phone call from the old man Smith, who offers him thirty million won to resolve a problem at his granddaughter Emily's mansion. Though initially reluctant, Yo-han accepts the job. He packs his grimoire, holy water, and supplies for Grizzly, then travels by bus and car up a mountain road to the isolated mansion. Upon arrival, he is greeted by a young housekeeper and enters a lounge where four other guests have gathered: Pastor Go Ju-won, shaman Park Min-hee, Smith's disciple Kim Soo-hyun, and the nun Ellie. Smith enters and introduces Emily, who is pale and weak. When Yo-han attempts to shake her hand, Emily suddenly convulses and flees the room, claiming a strong smell. Ellie, however, perceives only an incense fragrance. Yo-han follows the group to the dining room, confirming his sense of smell is unaffected.
