In the eastern United States at Smith's sprawling residence, Emily has been spacing out and sighing more often. The housekeeper So-ra checks on her, and Emily dismisses it as tiredness. After So-ra leaves, Emily blushes while looking at a sketch of Yo-han, tormented by fetishistic fantasies awakened after the Boogeyman incident. The next day, Emily notices a reproduction of the Mona Lisa in the hallway seems to have grown larger. That night, Smith screams and collapses; the hallway paintings are torn to shreds. Police find no forced entry and conclude Smith tore them himself in artistic hysteria. Alone, Emily discovers the Mona Lisa is actually a monster that killed the French painter and shredded his works. Remembering Yo-han, she calls him on Smith's phone, and he answers, asking her what's wrong.
