Chapter 136 — I Picked Up a Grimoire and Became a Wizard

Chapter 136

In Chapter 136, Yo-han and Pierre's ambush escalates when Mage Slayer intervenes with a Wakizashi, only to be parried by Lee Mun-ryong's spear. After brief introductions—Mage Slayer and Yo-han exchange names—Pierre unleashes a horde of yokai to overwhelm Grizzly, who retreats to guard his master. Pierre then reveals his Thursday-based luck magic from the Heptameron, declaring that overwhelming good fortune favors him as he crushes a broken sign beneath his foot. Just as the situation seems dire, Ellie arrives unexpectedly with a shopping basket, calling Yo-han by name. Ordered to subdue her by Pierre, she reveals a Warhammer and single-handedly dispatches multiple yokai. Yoannis arrives in a red convertible with Mia, firing revolvers at the Gnomes who had appeared to help. Pierre escapes via Dullahan-mounted headless horse, ordering the pursuit of Namgung Soo-ah, who carries the Shanhaijing. Yo-han resolves to follow, switching grimoires to chase the ghostly trail.
