He requests the use of the Time Seal ability to reunite with her, arguing that living a sealed, repetitive existence is no better than his current state. The narrator refuses, citing the strategic necessity of keeping Scho as an ally and the irreversible nature of the seal. Scho rejects the refusal and chooses to commit suicide, stating he is weary and will rest. This cycle repeats through the 27th, 28th, and 29th runs, with Scho found dead each time with a note suggesting the narrator give up. From the 30th regression onward, the content of Scho’s recorded phone calls to Adele begins to change. Initially, he simply expresses love, but over hundreds of cycles, the dialogue evolves into a mundane, two-way conversation about family, politics, and health. By the 500th cycle, the narrator stops eavesdropping due to the intimacy of the conversations. In the 1183rd run, the narrator visits the café, finds Scho’s body, and retrieves his smartphone. He plays the latest recording, which features Scho and Adele bickering affectionately about zero-calorie soda and sugar, highlighting the tragic absurdity of their eternal, paused existence.
