Chapter 301

Just as the Funeral faction and Anti-Funeral faction prepared for all-out war, the Saintess (Jeong Ye-ji) telepathically imposed a one-hour ceasefire, urging the Undertaker (Oh Dok-seo) to intervene and prove he was still alive to stop the fighting. Although the Undertaker feared lethal retaliation from his former comrades, the Saintess coldly reasoned that his physical safety and relationships were less important than preventing mass casualties on the Korean Peninsula. She noted his heightened risk of excommunication or dismemberment but insisted his presence was vital to quell the tension between Dang Seo-rin and Cheon Yo-hwa. Facing the threat of death, the Undertaker initially considered escaping by claiming kidnapping but noticed an 'Executor of Wills' doll replica of himself in the Saintess's room. Inspired by Korean dramas, he devised a new plan: feigning amnesia. The Saintess broadcast a telepathic message to both factions declaring that the Undertaker had been found in the Void, unconscious and suffering from memory loss due to an Outer God’s interference. She instructed all key leaders to gather at her residence. Upon arrival, the Undertaker played the part of a confused victim. Cheon Yo-hwa and Lee Ha-yul embraced him in relief, while Yu Ji-won and Noh Do-hwa expressed skepticism but accepted the narrative. The Saintess explained that the Undertaker had prepared 'backup' dolls containing his memories, which would cure his condition if connected to him. While the leaders placed numerous dolls around his bed, the Undertaker secretly used his Aura mastery to create a dazzling magic circle beneath the blankets. He feigned a seizure, clutching his head, before 'waking up' and pretending to remember his allies, successfully disarming their hostility through emotional manipulation and theatrical performance. The Saintess praised his flawless acting, and the immediate threat of civil war dissipated as the factions reunited in celebration. In an epilogue, Sim Ah-ryeon visited the Undertaker late at night and revealed she knew the entire amnesia plot was a lie. She pointed out that Oh Dok-seo’s calm reaction during the gathering betrayed her knowledge of the deception. Faced with exposure, the Undertaker turned the tables, using the situation to extort all of Sim Ah-ryeon’s regressor knowledge and legacy in exchange for her silence, ending the chapter with her kneeling in surrender.
