Seok-hwa scolds Su-bin for the delay and rudely snatches the items. He then begins violently hammering his own monk’s robe to the wooden platform floor, securing his body tightly with rope while chanting mantras. The guards watch in shock and fear, commenting on his madness and the anomaly-infested nature of the region. Seok-hwa declares his intention to achieve nirvana and be reborn as a Wheel-Turning King, collapsing from exhaustion after securing himself. Before dawn, mc (the Undertaker) speaks with Su-bin, who is frail but strong from walking. Despite Su-bin’s efforts, Seok-hwa ignores him or fails to be swayed. Drenched in gasoline from a canister, Seok-hwa shouts for the fire to be lit, concluding the chapter as the ritual begins.
