Noh Do-hwa entrusts this massive logistical challenge to him. The Undertaker recalls his travels during cycles 54–56, where he mapped routes alongside the Saintess, Jeong Ye-ji, who communicated via telepathy. During these travels, he met ordinary people rather than just awakeners. At the collapsed Changwon Tunnel, he encounters a short, young backpacker holding a makeshift spear, later identified as Kim Si-eun. The young man is startled but polite, revealing he is traveling from Asan to Busan to visit his late mother’s hometown in Daesan-myeon, Changwon. The Undertaker warns him of the slime monsters inside the tunnel and collapses the entrance to prevent others from entering. Impressed by the Undertaker’s power and hearing his tragic backstory about his mother, Kim Si-eun asks to join him. The Undertaker accepts, introducing himself by his moniker and agreeing to protect the young man. As they travel, the Undertaker notices something amiss when Kim Si-eun has no memory of his father. The narrator reveals that this Kim Si-eun is the son of the late football player Kim Joo-chul. The Undertaker explains that his 'Time Seal' ability erased all memory of Kim Joo-chul from everyone, including Kim Si-eun himself. He argues that Kim Si-eun’s survival was only possible because the Undertaker previously exterminated the monsters Ten Legs and the Udumbara World Tree, which would have otherwise killed him. Kim Si-eun is skeptical but intrigued, especially regarding his father’s imprisonment in a Busan stadium. The chapter ends with Kim Si-eun agreeing to follow the Undertaker to the truth, ending his hesitation.
