In the Jeongseon Dwarf Mine void, the narrator (the Undertaker) regresses from the 53rd cycle to the 100th. He wakes to find Noh Do-hwa (referred to as 'Master') blacksmithing a kitchen knife. The narrator, possessing memories of past loops, intervenes when a 'dwarf anomaly' nearly strikes Noh Do-hwa with a dropped tool, revealing the entity's indifference to them. Noh Do-hwa observes that the dwarf anomaly shrinks and vanishes after breathing life into the crafted item, leaving behind an inscription in an alien script. Realizing the void is a blacksmithing training ground where items normally vanish, Noh Do-hwa deduces they must earn 'acknowledgment' from all seven dwarves to clear the stage. The narrator assists her in forging items ranging from hoes to greatswords, classifying the dwarves by difficulty. After six days, Noh Do-hwa completes a greatsword but deliberately refuses the dwarf's blessing, refusing to become its disciple. Instead, she melts down all previously crafted weapons and forges a single, highly complex cane sword (swordstick). She engraves the names of the seven dwarves, including '[Dicentra Spectabilis]', and her own name 'Do-hwa' onto the blade. Upon completion, the mining village and all anomalies vanish, leaving only the sword. The narrator accepts the weapon, which becomes a permanent exception to the regression reset, persisting in the Taebaek Mountains outside the normal flow of time. Later, Noh Do-hwa inspects the sword with her monocle and, impressed, demands to know who crafted it, intending to recruit the artisan as unpaid labor for the National Road Management Corps. The narrator reveals the maker is his acquaintance, prompting Noh Do-hwa's shocked reaction.
