After crossing the Yellow Sea by boat, they enter the Beijing subway system, where the Awakeners have established the 'Beijing Liberation Assault Team'. The narrator gains the trust of the 17th commander through gifts of tea and displays of traditional skills like Go and calligraphy, securing a free pass for entry. The Saintess uses her [Clairvoyance] ability to scan Beijing for anomalies, identifying a massive tornado at the Temple of Heaven Park as the source of the city's disturbances. The narrator carries the Saintess through a severe thunderstorm to the park, where tree-like anomalies attack. He swiftly defeats them with his sword, impressing the Saintess. At the center of the storm, they confront a blue Morpho butterfly, which the narrator identifies as the 'Son of Heaven' anomaly causing the 'Butterfly Effect'. He slashes and destroys the butterfly, ending the storm. Afterward, the Saintess praises him with a humorous title, and they discuss improving the image of the Constellations. The chapter ends with the Saintess making a broadcast to Korean Awakeners using cat-like speech, causing the narrator to drop his coffee in shock at the anomaly of her behavior.
