Chapter 221 — Regression Is Too Much

Chapter 221

Kim Jun-ho and Choi Ji-won secretly meet with Martin, who reveals that the U.S. government's sudden rise and the Player Association's early formation were driven by a mysterious trait called the Book of Truth. Held by a blond young man, the trait allows the user to ask questions about the future in exchange for massive sacrifices, starting with ten tons of gold to verify the Tower's existence. Martin explains that the U.S. government has used the book to gather intelligence on non-players, but is now running out of resources and may resort to human sacrifice. The Association president, previously aligned with the government, has grown disillusioned after a conflict with a dangerous player and plans to dismantle the Association's current leadership. Martin intends to leave the Association to help the president seize control and stop the government's corruption. Kim Jun-ho speculates that Dok Su-hee may have leaked information about human sacrifice to Michael Zetter, potentially altering the timeline.
