Chapter 284 — Regression Is Too Much

Chapter 284

Kim Jun-ho and Choi Ji-won analyze the Colosseum's ranking system, concluding it uses a point-based matchmaking rating with gradual decay for inactivity rather than outright demotion. Jun-ho explains that the Empress likely wiped out over half the original rankers, creating a vacuum that allowed new climbers to rise quickly. He notes Michael Zetter's rapid fall to rank 300 after hitting rank 100, contrasting him with other players who remain at high ranks, possibly due to extreme combat dedication. Jun-ho realizes they must attract fighters to raise their score efficiently, planning to use bait and disguise his strength to avoid scaring opponents away. Their discussion is interrupted by Jake, a flamboyant newcomer with distinctive gold-capped teeth and chains, who approaches them with a proposal.
