Kim Jun-ho and Choi Ji-won travel to America by plane, where Ji-won attempts to persuade Jun-ho to consider alternative solutions before he decides to ask the Book about using Raphael's ring to erase Ronald's trait. Jun-ho remains resolute, explaining his plan to simply ask the Book first. Upon arriving at an underground research facility, they meet the President, who warmly greets Jun-ho and agrees to facilitate the Book's cooperation as a favor. Alone with Ji-won and the Book, Jun-ho asks if using the ring on Ronald would erase the Book's existence and undo past events. The Book confirms it would, but then demands Jun-ho hand over the Elixir he carries as a favor in return. After Jun-ho agrees, the Book opens to reveal a dense, flickering page showing the future Jun-ho would have chosen, pulling his consciousness into the vision.
