Chapter 54 — Regression Is Too Much

Chapter 54

Kim Jun-ho, Choi Ji-won, and Park Cheol-jin hold a planning meeting to defeat the Floor 2 City Master. Jun-ho bluffs about his connection to Michael Zetter and proposes using leather armor to mitigate lightning damage, though Ji-won prefers custom gloves and vambraces to maintain her sword control. Baron Licht, a noble freed from the city's sigil system, offers to circulate mana within the climbers to boost their physical abilities and resistances, which Cheol-jin accepts enthusiastically. During the ensuing battle, Ji-won struggles against the master's lightning and Flash Step techniques. Jun-ho and Cheol-jon assist by throwing a sword to create an opening, allowing Ji-won to land critical blows. However, just as Ji-won prepares the final strike, the master's power escalates uncontrollably into a catastrophic natural disaster. The master declares she didn't intend to go this far and blames the climbers, while an angel intervenes in horror. Jun-ho watches in shock as the situation spirals beyond their control.
