The cycle repeats several times as the protagonist tries different excuses and displays of skill, only to be rebuffed or knocked out again by the girl, who remains unconvinced by his claims of being a novice. Eventually, he admits he has never held a sword before, which finally satisfies her enough to let him continue the lesson. She critiques his lack of natural talent and warns him against relying on his existing knowledge, setting a long-term goal for him to master swordsmanship under her guidance.
