Chapter 158 begins with Ise bathing alone, reflecting on his recent breakthrough to Core Formation and the responsibilities that come with it. Ise then enters his Living-Spirit Cave Abode to study the Soul-Return Body-Entering Art, realizing he must reach the Nascent Soul Realm to save his master Mongryeon. He sends a Message Talisman requesting a spirit-stone artisan. Later, disciples gather to join Azure Dragon Hall. Ise meets five Foundation Establishment cultivators, including Shin Hyeon (the Seok Gongju) and a dokkaebi named Doksu, sent by Gong Wol-a. He appoints Shin Hyeon as Deputy Hall Master and assigns them to investigate the Han Clan and Han Juok. The chapter closes with Ise beginning his new role as Hall Master.
