The next morning the outpost affiliate delivers updated investigation details about the Four-Wind Black Tiger and the missing locals. The group tracks into the mountains, where Pi Garam discovers two sets of tiger footprints—an immature specimen and an adult—contradicting Ise's knowledge of their solitary nature. Their search is interrupted by a sudden attack from a Flesh-Virtue Hawk, which Ise swiftly defeats with his hatchet and sealing banner, presenting the severed head to his stunned companions.
