He deduces the killer likely used a paralytic poison and suspects Krang or the Fairy Company Commander due to their access to the infirmary. During the day, Encrid interacts with Vengeance and Krang. When Encrid questions Krang's identity, Krang refuses to reveal his true self but makes a profound declaration that he will never betray the kingdom, leaving Encrid with a sense of his extraordinary presence. That night, Encrid remains awake to avoid a repeat of his previous death. He is struck in the neck by a small wooden needle containing a severe paralytic poison. As he loses consciousness, he sees a small, blurry shadow, possibly a woman or a child. He wakes up three days later, having successfully reset the timeline. Now prepared, Encrid decides to stay awake and prepare a plausible excuse to remain vigilant throughout the night to catch the assassin.
