While browsing the market, a group of thugs approaches, but instead of attacking, their leader prostrates himself to apologize for a previous incident involving a man named Vento. Encrid dismisses the apology, warning that the matter is not settled. After Krais haggles for various goods, including furs and leather pants, the group returns to their lodging to find a bald man waiting for them.
