Encrid escapes the chaos caused by Jaxon, riding the half-transformed horse Odd-Eyes toward the Royal Palace. Odd-Eyes demonstrates incredible speed and agility, leaping over wooden barricades and soldiers to reach the palace grounds in record time. Upon entering the palace, Encrid encounters a group of thirteen soldiers led by a former instructor who used to mock him. The instructor, now serving under Viscount Mernes, insults Encrid's past and attempts to attack, but Encrid swiftly slaughters the entire group with his dual blades, saving a terrified maid in the process. Encrid notes that his control over the 'Will' is improving. Moving into the royal gardens, he encounters two factions of the Royal Guard engaged in combat. He questions them about Krang's whereabouts and is informed by a wounded soldier in a dark gray helmet that Krang is in a private chamber and that he is likely too late. After incapacitating an aggressive Royal Guard with a precise kick, Encrid continues his pursuit toward the private chamber. As he enters the palace corridors, he is intercepted by Asia, who stands firmly in his path, warning him that he has gone far enough.
