The agents attempt to assert their authority to stop the execution, but the Courthouse speaker/system fails to recognize their credentials due to a lack of local verification. Assistant Manager Eun Haje arrives and, recalling Braun's logic, argues that if it is a legal trial, Soleum is entitled to a defense, witnesses, and legal counsel. She designates the gathered agents as his defense counsel and witnesses. This procedural challenge forces the system to transition from a summary judgment to a formal trial. The setting shifts to a new, darkened courtroom where Soleum stands under a spotlight. A jury of dozens of distorted, deceased agents from Sekwang Metropolitan City—some burned or mutilated—takes their seats to begin the formal trial of Kim Soleum.
