The Agent and Ryu Jaekwan trek through mountain trails to avoid populated districts, using mountain bikes. While resting at a mountain cabin, the Agent senses sinister intentions from people watching them from the window. A middle-aged man from the cabin attempts to lure them inside by offering ramen, but his true intent is to steal their bicycles. The Agent recognizes the man's greed and realizes he is eyeing their transportation. The group quickly leaves, pursued by people from the cabin wielding hiking poles and cables. The Counselor provides Ryu Jaekwan with 'Fox Beads,' small red berries that prevent being mesmerized by Disaster Alerts. Ryu Jaekwan insists on staying with the Agent to reach Sekwang Station, despite the Agent's attempt to leave him in a safe area. They arrive at Ju-i Station, which is near a local broadcasting station. The Agent uses his tattoo to store the bicycles before entering the subway. The station concourse is in a state of total pandemonium, filled with panicked civilians and rumors of biochemical terrorism. They attempt to use the circle line, but the outer loop is blocked by station employees. As they move toward the opposite platform, a train arrives, disgorging wounded and dying passengers. Amidst the chaos, the Agent spots Eun Haje being carried off the train; she is dead.
