The ghost story involves an endless hallway of grotesque clown portraits; people enter by watching a specific YouTube ad and being pulled in by a clown's hand in a hallway. The portraits are actually distorted humans, and those who go missing become new portraits. Kim is terrified, noting the horror-movie quality of the event, but realizes his superiors—Section Chief Lee Jaheon and Supervisor Park Minseong—are unnervingly fearless. Section Chief Lee instructs the team to close their eyes for sixty seconds to adjust to the dark and orders them to stab every portrait to make the clowns crawl out, which provides an escape route via the now-empty frames. Kim, wanting to avoid direct contact, uses his 'translucent glove' equipment to remotely touch objects. He bluffs his way into a plan to run and identify the 'correct' portrait to escape, secretly hoping to find a way out without having to face the monsters directly.
