In a hotel buffet, Yo-han notices Soo-ah's anxiety about the campground toxic-gas incident and offers her chocolate to lift her spirits; their lighthearted exchange eases her mood. Meanwhile, at the Bureau, Min-hwa consults the grimoire Dongui Bogam, which delivers a burned-page warning: 'Don't go wandering outside.' The scene shifts to Chairman Kim's memory of a frozen winter day, where as a starving child he devours his dead sibling's corpse. A blond, blue-eyed vampire with a Swastika armband - Yoannis - finds him, offers a grimoire, and teaches him to read, write, and wield magic, marking their first meeting. Back in the present, Chairman Kim reads a report about the campground toxic-gas leak, recognizes it as the work of necromancer Edward Coffin, and orders his subordinate to contact Yoannis, vowing to kill Coffin.
