Chapter 7 — I Picked Up a Grimoire and Became a Wizard

Chapter 7

Kim Yo-han arrives at a seemingly ordinary building near the University district bar street, where Park Cheol-min, the building owner and part-time job poster, greets him urgently. Cheol-min explains that the previous part-timer fled and that rumors of a ghost in the building are driving away customers. He assigns Yo-han to watch security camera footage and patrol the third and fourth-floor reading rooms until 6 AM, warning him not to run away. After Cheol-min leaves, Yo-han hears someone banging up the stairs and hears the fourth-floor door bell ring wildly. He summons his familiar Grizzly, who tears apart a pale ghost. Three more ghosts flee toward the door; Yo-han stops them by sprinkling Holy Water, which dissolves them without a sound. He reflects on magic as the harnessing of strange phenomena, comparing it to Edison and Nikola harnessing lightning, then continues toward the rooftop.
