After ending a call with Shin Si-on, Kim Yo-han reflects on his violent past while considering how to strengthen his magic arsenal. He consults De Vermis Mysteriis, which reveals a page teaching the summoning of Earth Elementals called Gnomes. Intrigued, he purchases camping equipment and supplies from Mephisto Market, travels to a low mountain at night, and prepares a summoning circle in a cleared patch of frozen ground. With Grizzly's help he digs the required pit, then recites an incantation invoking Adonai, Elohim, and El. The ritual succeeds, and miniature dwarven Gnomes with squishy cheeks, fluffy white beards, and red triangular hats emerge from the earth. One Gnome offers him a gold coin and invites him to play, confirming that the grimoire's spell was correct all along. Yo-han reflects that wealth itself is a form of power for a wizard.
