Chapter 324 — Regression Is Too Much

Chapter 324

Michael Zetter confronts a drunken President, warning him against recklessly sacrificing America's resources to prove a regressor's existence. Zetter argues that knowing a god-like being exists changes nothing without knowing their identity or intentions. The President accepts the reprimand, and they part ways as Zetter continues his Tower climb. After clearing Floor 14, Zetter is visited by Mahesh, an Indian man with a Prophecy trait who infiltrated the secure office. Mahesh offers his foresight to help Zetter build a private organization, Alpha, to recruit talented players and maintain global peace. Zetter accepts, and Mahesh guides him to recruit various individuals, including a teleporter, a shapeshifter, a hacker, and a young Dok Su-hee with an Inventory ability. The group undergoes intense training and splits into climbers and real-world operatives. Zetter begins issuing lethal missions to eliminate dangerous individuals, establishing Alpha's ruthless efficiency. Two and a half months later, the President has consolidated global power, while Zetter's player organization grows, creating an underlying tension between the two leaders despite their shared goal of world peace. Mahesh interrupts a meeting to show Zetter a mysterious Elixir.
