Michael Zetter's intelligence network uncovers the sale and traces rumors to Choi Ji-won and an unidentified East Asian man who cleared Floor 4 using the exact same method. Zetter deduces a regressor or time-travel trait is involved and warns the President of a monster invasion a year later, but the President dismisses the vague threat. Zetter then recruits players, including the Empress, and meets Choi Ji-won and Kim Jun-ho, suspecting one of them is the regressor. Back at the White House, Zetter manipulates the hesitant President by framing a dangerous experiment as a chance to observe a god and guarantee America's future, successfully swaying him despite the President's initial reservations about the risks.
