Braun informs Kim Soleum that the shoes have been there every evening. Meanwhile, Baek Saheon, hiding in his room, contemplates using the pen to further manipulate Kim Soleum or steal items from other employees. However, his plans are interrupted when he opens his door to get water and finds Kim Soleum sitting in the dark kitchen with the Braun plushie. Kim Soleum, despite being physically weakened by the recent curse, reveals he is fully aware of the deception. He speaks in a menacing, hoarse voice, telling the doll that his roommate tried to brainwash him and suggesting that such a rude person does not deserve to be a roommate. The chapter ends with Kim Soleum confronting the paralyzed Baek Saheon.
