Chapter 2 — I Picked Up a Grimoire and Became a Wizard

Chapter 2

Chapter 2 opens with Yo-han waking in his studio apartment, disoriented but relieved that last night's events were not a dream. He prepares a simple meal of tuna pasta while reflecting on his situation. The Vampire Grizzly makes beastly sounds under the bed and later fascinates itself with the refrigerator, prompting Yo-han to command it to stop. After eating, Yo-han resolves to investigate the De Vermis Mysteriis grimoire and heads out. At the Old Bookstore, he learns from a worker that the old owner has died in his sleep and the shop is being cleared out. He then observes the police-taped scene of the university district massacre, where an unnamed tough guy was killed by Grizzly the night before. Overwhelmed by the cascade of supernatural and mundane responsibilities, Yo-han mutters in frustration before heading to university.
