Chapter 31 Kim Jun-ho experiments with extracting traits from the young 'scrawny' player, using his Curiosity trait to make the boy follow him. After demonstrating his improved swordsmanship and offering protection, the boy agrees to travel with him, though Jun-ho finds his 'Hyung-nim' address unsettling and smacks himself to stay focused. Jun-ho then regresses to the Tutorial clearing to test the Hero trait's activation conditions. He saves several unnamed players from mutant goblins, confirming the trait boosts his physical abilities while enemies are present and can activate multiple times per fight. After exhausting his trait-grinding efforts and realizing achievement levels cannot be stacked, he regresses once more. This time, he immediately reveals his regression to Choi Ji-won, shows off his swordsmanship, and prepares to face the Minotaur alone to ensure everyone's survival. 10:24
Chapter 32 Kim Jun-ho repeats his regression strategy to rally the tutorial players, using calculated speeches and a sword demonstration to activate the Hero trait and stack its effects. He claims to sense a massive monster and promises to protect everyone, successfully manipulating the crowd's emotions. However, Choi Ji-won interrupts him, questioning his reckless plan to use the players as a shield against the Minotaur. She argues that protecting them will hinder their chances of survival and demands he fight alone. Realizing his power is insufficient to defeat the boss while safeguarding the crowd, Jun-ho's plan fails. Overwhelmed by the lack of strength, he suffers damage and regresses to the start of Floor 0. Upon returning, he encounters the sealed Minotaur and the nearby Goblin Shaman, deciding this time to seek the shaman's help instead of relying on the players. 9:20
Chapter 33 Kim Jun-ho approaches the dying Goblin Shaman to negotiate help against the Minotaur. He explains their past encounters and proposes a plan to protect the goblin horde to activate his Hero trait. The Shaman is initially hostile and skeptical, citing his hatred for humans and the futility of helping them. Jun-ho demonstrates he has not killed goblins in this regression by showing his bloodless hand, appealing to the Shaman's desire for a temporary truce. Moved by the rare request for peace, the Shaman agrees to release the seal. As the goblins gather, the Hero trait activates, granting Jun-ho immense power. The Minotaur is released but is terrified by Jun-ho's overwhelming aura and attempts to flee. Despite a brief charge, the Minotaur is swiftly defeated by Jun-ho, who successfully clears the floor with zero casualties. 9:33
Chapter 34 Kim Jun-ho observes the newly arrived players discovering their Achievement levels and explains how to check their Status Windows. He reflects on their lack of combat experience and worries about potential casualties, but resolves to guide them through the next stage to save everyone. The Goblin Shaman approaches, testing the protagonist's intentions regarding betrayal and the nature of human strength. After a brief exchange acknowledging their mutual experiences with death and memory retention, the Shaman consumes poison and collapses. Kim Jun-ho enters the portal first to scout the next area, instructing the others to wait. He arrives in a courtroom-like space where a man in a suit, revealed to be the angel Zeziel, welcomes the survivors. Zeziel explains that the Tower is a place of judgment where humans must stand on a scale to measure the weight of their sins and pay a price to enter. As the angel prepares to begin the screening, he is shocked to find that all 201 seats in the gallery are filled, indicating that every single player survived the Tutorial's deadly trial. 9:43
Chapter 35 The chapter opens with the angel Zeziel reviewing a report from a 9th-rank angel, dissatisfied with the outcome. He judges a group of humans on Floor 0, starting with a bald, middle-aged man who is dragged onto the scales. Zeziel measures his sins and offers him a choice of payment methods, ultimately finding him unsightly. After the man's struggles subside, Zeziel moves to the next person. He realizes the group has no sins to pay for, likely because they defeated a hidden boss. He questions a ponytail woman and then a male human, who receives a bull-head sigil as a special reward. Zeziel offers him three Berserker-themed items; the man chooses the Pill to increase Strength. Zeziel sends him to Floor 1. The perspective shifts to the protagonist, Kim Jun-ho, who reflects on his quick transition to Floor 1, his unshared regression, and his feelings for Ji-won. He notices a familiar, cozy scent and finds himself back in his studio apartment, confused by the sudden location change. 8:58
Chapter 36 Kim Jun-ho awakens on Floor 1, finding himself in a studio apartment identical to his own. A system announcement confirms the floor's rules: there are no combat objectives, only rest and preparation. A guide booklet explains that climbers can materialize any item, alter their surroundings, and open portals to Earth or Floor 2 at will. Jun-ho tests these abilities, realizing the floor's true purpose is to lull climbers into complacency by offering absolute comfort and easy access to their old lives. He worries that traumatized survivors, pushed to the brink of insanity by the tutorial, will choose to stay on Floor 1 rather than face the dangers ahead, potentially dooming humanity. Checking his phone, he sees a flood of KakaoTalk messages and news headlines confirming that the Tower's existence is now globally public, with governments admitting to past cover-ups and players being officially recognized. The world is fundamentally changing as the Tower's influence spreads. 9:12
Chapter 37 The chapter details the global public reaction one month after the Tower's existence was revealed. News broadcasts confirm the US acknowledgment of the Tower and the official title 'Player', while the US Vice President demonstrates ice-manipulation powers, sparking worldwide debate. Internet forums explode with skepticism, religious fervor, and fear as ordinary citizens question the Tower's reality and prepare for potential monster attacks. Returnees struggle to communicate the Tower's interior to non-players due to a systemic communication block, leading to failed attempts to bypass the restriction. Public frustration mounts as survivors remain on Floor 1, enjoying its paradise-like conditions rather than climbing to save humanity. This perceived selfishness, combined with the realization that survivors can commit crimes and escape into the Tower, fuels social unrest, discrimination against disabled individuals, and a growing sense of impending doom as Earth descends into chaos. Chapter 38 The protagonist reflects on the rapid transformation of Earth and the dangers posed by unchecked Tower climbers, concluding that humanity must conquer the Tower quickly to prevent global ruin. News headlines broadcast government endorsements of climbing, corporate investigations into Tower items, and the formation of the Player Association under Michael Zetter. The protagonist reads a viral post on Playernet detailing his tutorial survival, sparking a thread of comments from fellow survivors who confirm the events and speculate about his regressive nature. Unwilling to reveal his identity as a regressor due to the threat of sealing, he plans to climb secretly while building a safe distance from top heroes. To boost his strength, he attempts to repeatedly consume a Berserker's Pill upon regressing to Floor 1, only to discover the unique item cannot be used more than once, leaving him with a hollow sigh. Chapter 39 Kim Jun-ho tests the creation ability of Floor 1, attempting to materialize martial arts elixirs and manuals. While generic martial arts items fail to appear, he successfully creates a book detailing Choi Ji-won's swordsmanship and duplicates his Berserker's Pill, realizing he can only copy items he currently possesses. He then shifts his focus to practical combat training in a simulated laboratory space, emphasizing the need to avoid damage due to his regression mechanic. After reviewing the Tower's basic rules and understanding the timeline implications of returning to Floor 1, he intentionally inflicts damage on himself to trigger a regression. Upon returning to the start of Floor 1, he quickly invests his entire fortune into a cryptocurrency tied to Michael Zetter's nickname, anticipating a future price surge. Satisfied with his physical and mental state, he opens a portal to Floor 2 and prepares to enter. Guest access includes first 36 of 359 audio chapters. Sign in for Free access. 9:03
Chapter 40 Kim Jun-ho awakens in the medieval-style city of Floor 2, noting his automatic gear change to beginner leather armor. He instinctively dodges David Trout, a large, highly social black man who introduces himself and suggests they stick together. Jun-ho brushes him off and approaches an energetic angel by the fountain who enthusiastically explains the floor's clear condition: obtain a recognition sigil from a city resident without leaving the city area. The angel praises Archangel Raphael and outlines the reward tiers. Jun-ho observes a poster signed by M.Z. (Michael Zetter) advising climbers to stock up on potions for training. A middle-aged white man confirms the poster's author and mentions an unofficial American climber community. Jun-ho reflects on Zetter's advice, realizing it is useless for his regression ability. Suddenly, a woman with a golden sigil sprints into the square, only to be blocked by three men in the alley. She stops and negotiates rather than fighting, confirming that violence is forbidden on this floor. Guest access includes first 36 of 359 audio chapters. Sign in for Free access. 10:13
Chapter 41 Kim Jun-ho observes a trio of street thugs harassing a woman with a Gold-grade mark. After asking why she doesn't just jump over them, he attempts a vertical jump but strikes an invisible ceiling barrier, triggering a regression to the start of Floor 2. Upon returning, he investigates the barrier with a local angel, learning it blocks heads and chests but allows arms to pass. He then encounters a Silver-grade climber who bypasses the thugs and presents his mark to the angel. Seeking information, Jun-ho approaches a local resident in cloth clothes, who explains the mark system: residents hand out Copper and Silver marks for trivial tasks, while Gold and Platinum marks require earning the recognition of the self-proclaimed nobles in their mansion. The resident warns against pursuing the nobles due to their rotten personalities. Jun-ho reflects on the suspicious disparity between the easy lower marks and the difficult higher marks, suspecting a hidden Diamond-grade reward or mechanic exists beyond the Platinum tier. Chapter 42 Kim Jun-ho completes a simple candle-cutting task to receive a silver sigil from a blacksmith, learning that rewards are based on the highest grade possessed. Noticing the ease of obtaining silver sigils and the suspicious presence of bronze sigil holders, he investigates the streets. He observes desperate citizens trying to bribe or plead with an unnamed beggar for information, reinforcing his suspicion that hidden powers lurk among the lower ranks. Deciding to pursue a gold sigil, he visits a grand mansion and meets Baron Licht. The noble explains that the city's residents entered the Tower through faith in God and are overseen by the Master of the City. To earn a gold sigil, Licht demands that Jun-ho kidnap a young fish seller named Emily, exploiting a loophole that permits violence between climbers and residents. Jun-ho finds the request deeply suspicious, suspecting the Tower is manipulating his actions. Guest access includes first 36 of 359 audio chapters. Sign in for Free access. 9:14
Chapter 43 The protagonist reflects on Floor 2's bizarre corruption, where a prosperous city hides beggars and nobles encourage kidnapping and violence. He visits Baron Licht, who questions his return alone. The protagonist strikes him unconscious, finds a platinum sigil and a golden sigil-creation box, and leaves. A town guide who previously helped him arrives. The protagonist gives the box to the guide, who agrees to replace the corrupt nobles and assign normal tasks. As the protagonist drags the unconscious Baron outside, the Baron laughs, revealing that his actions were merely the will of God. The protagonist turns to see the town guide standing outside, now protected by dozens of magical orbs and a thick barrier. The guide reveals he saw the protagonist's full power and will not be fooled like Baron Licht. The protagonist charges but is hit by magic, triggering a regression to the start of Floor 2. Frustrated by the endless cycles and the Tower's twisted design, he resolves to act on emotion rather than reason. Guest access includes first 36 of 359 audio chapters. Sign in for Free access. 9:34
Chapter 44 Kim Jun-ho witnesses thugs extorting a gold-emblem woman and intervenes, knocking them out. The city's enforcer immediately sentences him to three hours of imprisonment, triggering a regression to his entry point on Floor 2. After waking, Jun-ho realizes the three-second grace period before punishment allows him to reach the angel. He returns to Baron Licht's mansion, strikes the noble, and steals a platinum sigil. To avoid drawing aggro from the city's surveillance and other players, he disguises himself in resident clothes, trades a Berserker's Pill for a set of garments, and entrusts the sigil to a passing resident. He then approaches the plaza thugs, retrieves the sigil, and sprints toward the angel. Just as the city's punishment is about to strike, he throws himself into the portal, successfully clearing Floor 2 and securing his platinum reward. Chapter 45 Kim Jun-ho reflects on his successful but mentally taxing clearance of Floor 2, noting how the comfort of Floor 1 has softened his resolve. He reviews the Platinum Reward List, ultimately choosing a Pill of Flash to permanently boost his Agility stat rather than taking equipment that would be lost upon regression. Deciding to disrupt the floor's rigid class system, he intentionally takes damage to regress back to the start of Floor 2. Upon returning, he encounters a miserable beggar named Thomas, who suffers from an itchy curse and cannot touch water or eat properly due to a compulsion linked to a bronze box in his pocket. Kim Jun-ho intervenes, taking the box and liberating Thomas from his curse. He instructs the beggar to wash, eat, and change, then teaches him the phrase 'Viva la revolución,' positioning himself as the revolutionary hero the city has been waiting for. Chapter 46 The protagonist uses his Awe trait to rally ordinary residents against the oppressive sigil box system on Floor 2. He first cleans up and speaks to a hostile beggar, then addresses a large crowd of residents who vent their frustrations about their forced lives and the city's structure. The protagonist guides them to collect sigil generators from willing residents, including a former aspiring singer named Miller, while using a human wall to peacefully pressure a reluctant silver-grade resident into compliance. The group then storms a gold-grade noble's mansion, where they confront Baron Licht. Using the residents as a shield to bypass the rule against player violence, the protagonist incapacitates the noble and seizes his sigil generator. After successfully collecting all generators from the street, the protagonist heads to the plaza to clear the floor. He presents the platinum sigil to a waiting angel, who warns him that removing all generators will trap future climbers and ruin the city. The protagonist dismisses the warning, shrugs off the angel's concerns, and shouts toward the sky, demanding the unseen master of the city reveal herself. Chapter 47 Kim Jun-ho confronts the master of the second-floor city, demanding the Boss and sigil boxes. The city ruler, a blonde woman in electrified plate armor, reveals herself and explains her philosophy: the city's residents are sinners who must live each other's lives via sigil boxes to achieve mutual understanding and eventual utopia. She offers Jun-ho a diamond-colored Archangel Raphael sigil as a reward to leave the boxes and the city's structure intact. Jun-ho rejects her reasoning, criticizing the forced class-play and suffering, but ultimately accepts the diamond reward to avoid a dangerous handshake and regression. He clears Floor 2, selects the hidden reward, and prepares to regress, leaving the stubborn ruler and the trapped residents behind. Guest access includes first 36 of 359 audio chapters. Chapter 48 Kim Jun-ho reviews his diamond reward options, ultimately selecting Flash Step over the Heart of Lightning Flash and a Lowest-grade Elixir due to his regression ability making the latter two impractical. After acquiring Flash Step, he realizes he lacks the mana control to use it effectively. Returning to his apartment, he searches online communities for information on Floor 2 but finds little useful data. Remembering Michael Zetter's poster, he checks American player communities and discovers a highly upvoted post by M.Z. detailing an unpleasant experience with the Master of the City, providing a potential lead for his next steps. Chapter 49 The protagonist reads Michael Zetter's public post detailing his traumatic but successful experience on Floor 2, where he subjugated a noble and survived the master of the city's lightning strike. Inspired by Zetter's account and the ruler's offer to change rules if challenged, the protagonist decides to attempt persuasion rather than combat. He regresses to the start of Floor 2 and consults the plaza guide angel, who confirms the master of the city has limited authority to alter non-core rules. The protagonist then confronts the ruler, arguing against her philosophy of forcing residents to endure suffering for mutual understanding. The ruler dismisses his moral appeals, stating she views the residents as her personal assets and demands he respect her jurisdiction. When persuasion fails, the protagonist accepts the diamond sigil to clear the floor, regresses again, and resolves to execute a more strategic plan to dismantle the city's oppressive system. Chapter 50 Kim Jun-ho waits patiently in the Floor 2 clearing, planning to use Choi Ji-won's strength to provoke the city master while he bides his time. He observes the daily summoning patterns and engages in idle conversation with local thugs who guard the alleyways, discussing Tower rumors, gold sigils, and the morality of the Tower's judgment. After weeks of waiting, the American player David Trout arrives, successfully bribing the thugs with sigils to clear his path. Shortly after, Park Cheol-jin appears, expressing gratitude for their Tutorial partnership and noting the strange fate of meeting again. He mentions waiting for a companion, and soon Choi Ji-won arrives, exchanging brief, formal greetings with Jun-ho before the chapter concludes. Guest access includes first 36 of 359 audio chapters. Ji-won apologizes for her past distrust, while Cheol-jin expresses gratitude for Jun-ho's sacrifices. Jun-ho internally reflects on the emotional distance between them, noting that their relationship has shifted from companionship to one of benefactor and survivor. He explains the oppressive rules of Floor 2, the city's sigil system, and the dangerous Master of the City. Cheol-jin and Ji-won react with shock and disillusionment to the cruelty of the Tower's design. Ji-won takes charge, rallying bronze-grade residents and dismantling the noble class's sigil box system with renewed confidence and refined swordsmanship. After three weeks of preparation, she confronts the Master of the City, who offers her a diamond sigil in exchange for leaving the residents alone. Ji-won declines, declaring her intent to fight for freedom. The Master accepts the challenge, and an angel clerk panics over the potential collateral damage. The Master initially deflects the strikes but is forced to react to Ji-won's unexpectedly rapid follow-ups and feints. As the Master regains composure and fights seriously, her superior stats and swordsmanship push Ji-won back, though Ji-won steadily adapts and closes the gap. Observers, including Kim Jun-ho and Park Cheol-jin, watch the blur of motion with awe. The Master eventually concedes defeat in pure technique but prepares to unleash her overwhelming mana. Ji-won interrupts the escalation to pause the fight, retrieving specially prepared leather gloves and vambraces from Cheol-jin to mitigate the electrical threat. Chapter 54 Kim Jun-ho, Choi Ji-won, and Park Cheol-jin hold a planning meeting to defeat the Floor 2 City Master. Jun-ho bluffs about his connection to Michael Zetter and proposes using leather armor to mitigate lightning damage, though Ji-won prefers custom gloves and vambraces to maintain her sword control. Baron Licht, a noble freed from the city's sigil system, offers to circulate mana within the climbers to boost their physical abilities and resistances, which Cheol-jin accepts enthusiastically. During the ensuing battle, Ji-won struggles against the master's lightning and Flash Step techniques. Jun-ho and Cheol-jon assist by throwing a sword to create an opening, allowing Ji-won to land critical blows. However, just as Ji-won prepares the final strike, the master's power escalates uncontrollably into a catastrophic natural disaster. The master declares she didn't intend to go this far and blames the climbers, while an angel intervenes in horror. Jun-ho watches in shock as the situation spirals beyond their control. He returns wearing full leather armor to test a theory against the Master's lightning, only to be instantly incinerated and collapsed. The Master mocks the fallen figure, but Jun-ho had secretly slipped behind her during the distraction. Using a technique learned purely by observation, Jun-ho bypasses her defenses, steals a hidden pouch, and retrieves a crucial item. Chapter 56 Kim Jun-ho reflects on his gamble to steal the diamond sigil box from the Floor 2 city ruler, hoping it would break her control over the residents. The gamble succeeds, and the ruler, now stripped of her authority and appearing as an ordinary girl, thanks him. She reveals that the true master of the city was a young nobleman who committed suicide to free the city from the god's rules, and an angel subsequently placed a replacement in her position. As Jun-ho processes this revelation, the Tower announces his victory over the hidden boss. Archangel Raphael descends in a pillar of light, congratulating Jun-ho and confirming that he has healed all the unconscious players, including Choi Ji-won and Park Cheol-jin, before introducing himself. Chapter 57 Kim Jun-ho confronts Archangel Raphael, who appears in a handsome human form. A baby angel interrupts to defend angelic appearances, prompting Raphael to silence him. Raphael explains that Floor 2's harsh rules were intentionally designed to inspire climbers to resist and find hidden paths, such as exploiting the city master's weakness. He agrees to abolish the sigil box system, relax violence standards, and appoint strong instructors to help other climbers. Raphael claims his actions stem from a god's unconditional love, though Jun-ho remains deeply suspicious of the Tower's true intentions. After Raphael prepares to leave, Jun-ho stops him to demand a special reward for uncovering the hidden achievement, refusing to accept the standard diamond rewards and insisting on more compensation for his efforts. After Raphael departs, Kim Jun-ho observes the global internet reaction to Choi Ji-won's victory over the master of the city, noting widespread praise for her strength and strategic rule changes, as well as growing rumors about his own hidden Flash Step ability. Despite the improved conditions on the 2nd floor, Kim Jun-ho decides against regressing, fearing Raphael might deduce his secret. After parting ways, they all enter Floor 3, finding themselves in a dark cave with five stone doors marked with one to five lines. While other players choose lower difficulties, Jun-ho argues for the five-line door to test its limits, leveraging his Regression ability to mitigate risk. Despite Ji-won's caution about potential separation and hidden dangers, Jun-ho confidently places his hand on the hardest door, triggering the floor entry message. The timid man nervously suggests the group cooperate to open a stone gate requiring four hands. He introduces himself as Ahn Gyeong-jun, a javelin user and younger brother of the analytical Glasses Man. The protagonist, Kim Jun-ho, introduces himself next. The quiet woman with a black bob identifies herself as Dok Su-hee, a dagger user. Finally, the intimidating man with sunken eyes introduces himself as Kang Chan, a fist fighter.
